RP F Gas App update 1.0.2

An updated version of RP F Gas will be available shortly from the App store.

The update adds some reworked navigation to job sheets as well as enhanced test notes The addition of an inbuilt flashlight for iPhone access the devices flash to illuminate hard to see areas whilst filling the asset data.

There are a number of bug fixes and the addition of a cache clear function to empty the data cache manually.

Improved signature and job sign off features

RedPoint F Gas has introduced enhanced digital customer signature capture to its app and platform.

Customers signatures captured by RP F Gas iOS app are stored securely by the platform and are easy to pull up and search against so you can see what jobs have been signed off and exactly when.

F Gas Regulations

Are you compliant with F Gas regulations?

F Gas Regulations are actively enforced by EA (Environment Agency).  It is a criminal offence to install or maintain F Gas containing equipment that qualifies for F Gas regulation and there are sever penalties available for those who break the rules.

In addition it is the responsibility of equipment owners to ensure their refrigerators and air conditioning equipment is serviced at regular intervals by a REFCOM or other suitably qualified F Gas engineer.

The age of the self aware HVAC system is arriving

Remote HVAC monitoring is not a new thing.  It’s been around a long time in one form or another.  Often the relationship with a remote sensor if fairly uni directional and requires facilities mangers to interact with various systems to poll information or respond to critical information. Whilst this works well, there is a lot of room for improvement.

The age of the self aware HVAC system is arriving….

RedPoint F Gas Software Platform  will soon be interfaced with the RedPoint Monitor and AI platforms to deliver perhaps the worlds most accessible if not first self aware HVAC management system.  Working with Visicom Scientific Software RedPoint Monitor,  RP F Gas will communicate directly with refrigerators and Air conditioning systems who can feed information on health and status as well as required service directly to a custom developed Artificial Intelligent controlled FM module within the RP F Gas Platform.  Self learning profiles for each machine will be able to automatically decide if service is required and if authorised assign service personnel automatically direct to their FM app or mobile device.

If the engineer needs to reschedule or reject a visit the refrigerator or Air conditioning machine itself will negotiate the arrangement with the asset owner and engineer team.  Only if it cannot reach a satisfactory conclusion will it call to the powers above for further assistance.

Not using F Gas software is like testing a 9v battery with your tongue..

Not using F Gas software to ensure compliance with F Gas regulations is a bit like using your tongue to test a 9V battery.

While you are busy fighting fires and managing your engineers, streamlining the process of keeping track of gas usage and generating test certificates may not always be top of your priority list.  So why is it important?

If you simply consider the cost of wasted time then here is food for thought.  With a single engineer carrying out 100 F Gas tests per year with an average of ten units in each test location, that equates to 1000 F-Gas tests per year per visit.

Assuming our intrepid engineer uses pen and paper method and it takes only 10 minutes to hand write a test certificate from the test notes, that is over 160 hours spent with a pen in hand filling in paperwork!

Even if the engineer takes the certificates to site and completes them there, that brings its own issues.  The certificates need to be returned to the office and filed/posted etc and let’s face it, sat on the dashboard pf the van is hardly the best place for important paperwork.

If the average wage of the engineer is £10 per hour that is a hefty £1600 a year spent sat writing…

Surely there is a better way?  Of course there is.

F Gas regulations are a record keeping exercise,  you wouldn’t use a hand screwdriver to screw in a thousand screws, so why use a pen to write a thousand letters?  You have to do it, your clients have to do it, so use the best tool for the job.

From the example above, assuming that using an RP F-Gas software device saves you say 5 minutes on every certificate (accounting for 1 finger typists) thats an average immediate saving of 83 hours or £830+ pounds per year.

That is before you even look at the other benefits of making your testing process digital.
